Resource-Based Learning

"With RBL, students become "capable, self-reliant, self-motivated, lifelong learners."

What are the benefits of Resource-Based Learning?

Resource-Based Learning accommodates individual differences in learning styles, abilities, needs, interests and prior knowledge. Students are able to learn at their own pace. Resources can be selected to match student needs and abilities.

The process encourages students to be responsible for their own learning. Learning becomes more meaningful and memorable because students are personally discovering.

RBL promotes the development of problem-solving, decision-making and evaluating skills. It allows for originality and creativity.

RBL provides opportunities for students to become effective users of information technology.

Students learn how to learn. As students become more information literate, they develop positive attitudes and skills that are useful throughout life.
