Computer Hardware

Computing needs, as well as computers and the components that are available, change on a regular basis. Some aspects are upgradable while others are not. Having a greater familiarity with the features of your hardware will enable you to better understand the capabilities and limitations of a computer system. This module will focus on the typical components of a standard desktop system. Information on specific peripherals, such as types of monitors, can be found by performing an Internet search.

SOFTWARE

While this module does not go into assessing the usability of various software applications, the requirements of the software you need will determine the computer system you will need. This module does include information on how to install driver software and operating system software.

Search Suggestion: "software reviews" +(name of software)

Note: Replace (name of software), including the brackets, with the name of the software (in quotation marks) that you are interested in learning about.

The web site WINPLANET includes a section on free and trial software for small businesses, which includes ratings and links to downloadable software.
