Your image of self develops over time and depends on:
When you label yourself as a certain type of person, there is a script that goes with it that determines how you will act. Here are some examples.

| chubby | eat more than you need to and don't exercise |
| quiet and shy | be quiet and not ask for help. Just stay out of the way |
| smart | solve problems easily and make good decisions |
| buff | eat healthy and work out |
| competent | work at being successful and overcome challenges with confidence |
| friendly | easy to talk to, make others feel comfortable |
| negative | look for the dark side in everything and say negative things |
| clean and attractive | pay attention to how you look and have good personal hygiene |
| compulsive | be unpredictable and allow little things to distract you |
| depressed | don't smile, hang your head, sigh a lot, mope |
| loser | act like a loser |
| winner | act like a winner |
