Teacher Notesnotes

Schools have been struggling to meet the needs of students who have not found success with conventional forms of schooling. Thousands of young people leave school early and find it very difficult to return later. The resources found on this web site are intended as bridging experiences to build skills and confidence in preparation for continuing education or making a transition into the community. The intent is to provide support material for schools/edcuators exploring flexible alternatives in accomodating the unique needs of this group.

Teachers or counsellors may find this resource useful in assisting returning students who need to develop academic skills and the ability to deal with the demands of living in a changing culture based on a global information explosion.

Although the resources are designed for returning students, they are also related to curriculum objectives found in the following Saskatchewan Learning Curriculum Areas: Middle Years Career Guidance Aims and Goals , Aim, Goals and Foundational Objectives for PAA , Practical and Applied Arts Handbook, Wellness 10 , Blueprint For Life: Competencies
