INFORMATION LITERACY: Preparing for Research - Formulate Questions                                                                                    
Good questioning strategies is a powerful technique that enables student to focus their reserch and move from simple, basic information pursuits to more advanced and complex research ventures.

So what might this look like?

Weather is explored at various grade levels in the Saskatchewan science curricula.
Teach students to formulate questions using the 5W+H question starters. Encourage them to create powerful, thought-provoking questions. Simple questions can be answered with "yes" "no" responses or short, factual answers. Complex questions require detailed information and higher level thinking.
