7.3 Make-up Application

Actors must have make-up to be seen on stage. Make-up can also alter the way an actor looks so that their face better reflects the character they are portraying. You now have a basic knowledge of make-up materials and how to plan and purchase make-up for a production.

• how to remove make-up after a performance
• how to apply aging techniques to a performer

Great make-up application takes practice. Be sure to find a willing and patient model to practice on. Take photos of your work and include them in your Theatre Log.
