7.3 Basic Application
There are a few main steps to applying make-up on an actor. Watch the following presentation titled Basic Make-up (swf). Once you have a good idea on how to things work, you will need to find a test subject. |
On a Character Make-up Planning Schedule, sketch with pencil crayon the various steps in applying basic make-up. Use this as a way of making notes for your theatre log. Find a willing volunteer to repeat these steps on. Of course, your model will appreciate you using real make-up rather than the pencil crayons you were using earlier. You should practice this basic make-up application as many times as possible, asking for your supervisor to critique your work whenever possible.
It is important to note that you should never share eye make-up. |
| As a general rule, each actor should have their own make-up for personal use. If you are using cream make-up, it is possible to change brushes for each actor and use the same tube. If possible, take photographs of your work and include them in your Theatre Log. |
